MCT Counselling Services is owned and operated by Marie-Claire Turgeon. Marie-Claire has been providing counselling and psychotherapy services in the Ottawa area since 1989. In 2007, she opened her current office in Nepean. Over the years Marie-Claire has earned a reputation for maintaining the highest ethical standards and for providing her clients with professional, trustworthy, and compassionate support.
Marie-Claire holds a Masters Degree in Education with a Counselling Specialization from the University of
Ottawa and is a Canadian Certified Counsellor (C.C.C.) RP as governed by the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association. She is also a member of the Association of Traumatic Stress Specialists having spent 12 years of her professional career providing trauma counselling for the Ottawa-Carleton Regional Police Service. Marie-Clarie continues to have a keen professional interest in the area of trauma and recovery.
Marie-Claire is dedicated to promoting the ongoing enhancement of the counselling profession and in upholding the ethics and standards of counselling practice. She has been a Clinical Supervisor for graduate students enrolled in Counselling programs at Ottawa area universities and continues to provide mentorship for newly trained psychotherapists.
Guided by a client-centered, holistic and integrated perspective which encompasses the mind, body and spirit of her clients, Marie-Claire blends her diverse background and expertise in a wide variety of clinical specialities.
